There's plenty of circumstancial evidence to support the alleged stupidy. Hamper gate, the supposed property he's bought around the corner from ted..

Re: The Positive and Negative Thread - WBA
So if Sulli was to say to BFS: "Thanks Sam, but we have decided to have a change for next season, give it your very best shot and go out on a high"... what would happen?

Would he stop fucking about and go for it, and leave us in a Euro place as his legacy?

Or would he continue to sulk and play silly buggers, pull the side down and leave under a childish cloud?

What is the Fat One really made of? How big are his balls?

Most fans now seem to fear Sulli and Co picking the wrong successor, rather than being set firm on keeping Sam.

That's quite a sea change in just a few months.

Re: The Positive and Negative Thread - WBA
This is getting silly now. A good draw against Tony Pulis' WBA is another point secured to consolidate our PL status so all good.

You can't count this as a bad run of form, our last two defeats were against Arsenal and Chelsea and you won't see many teams beating them at the moment.

Negative: Andy Carroll, introduction over Winning front pairing of Valencia and Sakho

Positive: The way Carroll plays he will be injured in 2 more games restoring the balance.

Re: The Positive and Negative Thread - WBA
I think the main problem with Allardyce isn't that he reverts to route 1. It is because he is over cautious and unwilling to take risks. He naturally reverts to damage limitation and a safety first approach.

This is great if you want someone to get you out of trouble but not to take you to the next step. I will reserve my judgement until the end of the season, but wether he stays and goes will depend on where we think we should be as a club. If we think we should be challenging for Europe then I don't think he is that man. If our ambition is to finish long-range then he is.

Stewie

It's almost like he's saying "MY way works, and now I've got Andy back I'll prove it...".

It makes no sense, and to my mind that is even MORE worrying.

I can't even put in to words how dissapointing it is to see us pissing away our league possition when I know we have the players in the squad who are capable of getting better results than the current bunch of favourites being played week after week.
Last season was different..we had lots of injuries so i could sort of forgive BFS for the team choice each week...this season there is no excuse.

Positive: League position and the first 15 games of the season

Negative: When we started to play Carroll up front.

Re: The Positive and Negative Thread - WBA
The way I see it is he would have 100% gone last summer had his contract been up. So the question is has he, or will he, do enough this season for Sullivan to have a change of heart? and that's not just on the pitch, but shit going on behind the scenes too with transfers etc. I would say no. Hope so anyway.

"He has never been able to handle that so many elements of that side prove him wrong - his ego is ahead of his brain and he would rather fail than eat any humble."

This is the bit I genuinely don't understand, it can't possibly be about ego.

Last season, we played a certain way, results were poor and he got slaughtered.
This season, we played the same way and lost our first 3 home games. Again, he got slaughtered.
Whether by luck or judgement, he stumbled across a formula that made us attractive to watch, hard to beat, and saw his ego getting getting stroked because he had praise coming from all corners.

To return to the approach that saw poor results last season and the beginning of this can't be to do with ego, it's just absolute, outright stupidity.

No different to when Avram GRANT found a winning formula, got us out of the bottom 3, and then changed it, and hardly won another game.

Re: The Positive and Negative Thread - WBA
Some of us have been saying for a while now that the Fat One would slowly but surely pull the wings off the winning side, and we were roundly cnuted off for it.

He has never been able to handle that so many elements of that side prove him wrong - his ego is ahead of his brain and he would rather fail than eat any humble.

Chelsea 'unbeatable'? The yids didn't think so...

Arsenal have too much quality in the team and on the bench to be beaten? Soton didn't think so, and Koeman said it BEFORE the game. Gonads.

I've never liked Sam's ways (and I don't change my mind every two minutes like some fuckers on here) but the Zarate situation has opened up the Pandora's box that the club had hoped to keep a lid on.

Now we seem to have a whole army of fans saying what a few have been saying for a good while...

Please feel free to keep defending Sam though - the threads will be something interesting to look back on at seasons end when he's fucked us over.

Re: The Positive and Negative Thread - WBA
Sullivan was clearly losing patience with him last year and if he does permanently revert back to hoofball despite all of the talent at his disposal - son of which he is only too keen to fuck off - lets hope it'll be the last straw.

Re: The Positive and Negative Thread - WBA
terry h - I hope I'm wrong, but i don't think we will need to go into a complete meltdown for BFS not to have his contract renewed. The only reason he didn't go last summer is because he had a year left, this year that isn't an obstacle. I would also suggest that BFS may think it's time he moved on too after 4 years.

In the event that Grumpster's suggestion about a heart attack for our beloved leader fails to materialise....

If the only way for Sullivan to decide enough is enough in May,is an early cup exit and a lousy second half to the season leading to massive fan discontent, then SO BE IT.

Re: The Positive and Negative Thread - WBA
Song's game is holding onto the ball rather than panic passing. He got dispossessed twice but that's the price you pay. I think he needs the Diego Poyet I saw pre-season. Anyone seen how he's been playing?

Steve P 8:50 Fri Jan 2
Re: The Positive and Negative Thread - WBA
I agree with that, wrighty. Song was holding on to the ball too long, he started having passes intercepted against arsenal and carried on yesterday. Waving your arms about is a poor signal to send out as well.

Sakho and Cresswell were competing in the second half, to see who could fuck up controlling the ball most. Carroll was a static passenger all game, and bringing that joke on to replace him when you've got Zarate in the squad, signals to me BFS time is up.

Grumpster 3:14 Fri Jan 2
Re: The Positive and Negative Thread - WBA
Allardyce has to be due a heart attack, so may get rid of him somehow.

He's done his remit since joining the club which I'm grateful for, but he's turning our supporters into moaning fuckers which I'm not grateful for.

Not all his fault though, Reid and Collins have always been lumpers which doesn't help how we play sometimes, as they love a boot up to Carroll.

ChesterRd 2:56 Fri Jan 2
Re: The Positive and Negative Thread - WBA
The most depressing thing was not so much the game itself but realising Allardyce's West Ham was back. It's been rearing it's ugly head since Carroll came back but today just brought it home.
